About the event

We have got one hell of a show in store for you.

We have comedy legend Shaparak Khorsandi (you may know her as Shappi) coming to Batley. Shappi’s career has taken her to all corners of the globe. She has appeared on countless TV & Radio shows, including: Live at the Apollo, Michael McIntyre’s Comedy Roadshow, I’m a Celebrity: Get Me Out of Here, Mock The Week, 8 Out Of 10 Cats, MasterChef, Have I Got News For You, QI, Pointless Celebrities, Question Time and Just a Minute, as well as her own show, Shappi Talk.

As if that wasn't enough, we have the mighty Nick Helm taking to the stage. Nick has become a firm TV favourite having appeared on multiple shows both acting and as himself. He was nominated for a Royal Television Society Award for his starring role in critically acclaimed BBC Three sitcom, Uncle, and also played the adorable Watto is Channel 4’s Loaded which was later broadcast on AMC in America. He’s also fronted his own food travelogue show Eat Your Heart Out with Nick Helm on Dave and his own high-octane variety show Nick Helm’s Heavy Entertainment on BBC Three. This is all in addition to his other unforgettable TV appearances such as 8 Out of 10 Cats, Russell Howard’s Good News and Celebrity Mastermind.

Want more? Ok - have a bit of Jack Carroll too! . He starred in CBBC sketch show Vic Reeves ‘Ministry of Curious Stuff’ aged 11, won a Pride of Britain award at 12, was runner-up on Britain’s Got Talent aged 14 and was nominated for a National Soap Award aged 15 for his appearance in Doctors. What he did when he was 13 remains a mystery. Since then, he’s made stand-up appearances on Live at the Apollo, Frankie Boyle’s New World Order, acted in 4 series of Sky 1 sitcom Trollied and starred in feature film Eaten By Lions.

Ok, here's one final piece of the pie. Anna Thomas is our final act, as heard and seen on ‘What Just Happened’ on BBC Radio Wales and BBC One Wales, ‘The Machynlleth Comedy Festival Showcase’ on BBC Radio Wales and BBC 4Xtra. Anna was crowned The BBC New Comedian of the Year in 2021.

This show is a fundraiser for a breast cancer related charity, The Nipple Innovation Project - they provide permanent 3D realistic tattoos of nipple to mastectomy patients, a service not available on the NHS.  All ticket proceeds will be donated to them.
